Alot of ghurka lads did this on my tour, though not with proper helmet cover they improvised. So did many others however it was clear some had rushed it in attempt to look ally and failed miserably, i fear this will become a new trend. Personally the "face vail" technique worked well on tour and i merely see the armys hard on over it being bad practice as an attempt of a high ranking officer who commsioned all of this to prove how worthwhile his job was.
too many chiefs, not enough indians

Just managed to get the original IBN of dii. All the effective solutions dont look very ally at all. Good helmet cam wont save lives, allyness however, will.

Yeh the RGR have done this very effectively for quite some time. I was with them on HERRICK 12 and WESSEX THUNDER. Both times they used mainly vehicle cam netting but added bits of sandbag and cuttings of old combats.
"Right lads we need to get this job finished."
"Troopy, not beein' funny like, but they're fucking shooting at us!"

Who came up with this helmet cover rubbish, probably some jobsworth that's never patrolled a war zone in his life sorry but this army is a joke

Agree! The cut is better but we need to move with the times. The American cover is good and quality built.
Like I've said, I have the disciple cover but have remove most of the Velcro. The pouch to the rear is good for either storing surefire helmet torch or NVD counterweight. The straps on the side are a good add to secure goggles etc when needed.
Their IBN argument about green straight line is increased by an addition line (2 straight elastic strips)...great job....or 'B.'
