These petitions cut both ways, I'd say that that sort of voting number was pretty conclusive proof that the Notional Defence Medal was a pants idea.

Are you seriously comparing home service during World War 2 with garrison service somewhere that doesn't qualify for a campaign medal since?

I do not believe you. If what you are saying is true, why would you want another medal to go "in the drawer"? That makes no sense.

Also, if you have a GSM, why would you want a BAOR or an I JOINED THE ARMY medal?

BTW, why the " so called modern day warriors" comment? I am not one, I left in 2002.

Finally, just to chear you up I am actively against the NDM and express my views quite frequently to a couple of MPs I know. I hope it right royally gets fucked off. If that hurts you buy a sodding teddy bear.
