I was hoping this thread had died a painful death by now.

I thought the Andrew swore loyalty to the Board of the Admiralty?
Bravo Bravo sets himself a depressingly low standard which he consistently fails to achieve.

    AsK a simple question

Not only that I have no idea what you are on about.

Did those who had the Silver Jubilee gong get a clasp to represent the Golden? In fact, were any in a position to receive the honour after 25 years?

For issuing a clasp to those with the QGJM then surely a quick scoot around the JPA records could be a start.
Receive a load of abuse, I addressed the question to Sandy Boots ,who from his post does know what I am talking about. I thought this was a forum, not an English
society, or some sort of education forum, which by the way if it where would most likely not include punctuation as it's no longer in vogue. Perhaps you should spend more time reading the post and you would see that not only can it happen but it has happened and will happen again! My work mate got the Silver Jubilee Medal for service in the Royal Navy, the Golden Jubilee Medal for Police Service and will be eligible if the criteria stays the same for the Diamond Jubilee Medal or bar, whichever is awarded. My question was to make it simple why did they not award a bar for those who held the QSJM and where awarded the QGJM. No doubt I will receive another load of abuse in reply to this, that is if your can manage to drag your knuckles of the floor.
    ps.
I couldn't give a fiddlers about searching the JPA as I really have no interest in if there is anyone in the services eligible. I just don't want a mate getting pulled over the coals and taken before a disciplinary panel, if he should not be wearing the medal. Here it could cost you over a grand in fines.

    Now I get you.

Well, they probably just thought that due to the time between silver and golden medals they might aswell just hand the Golden medals out. Bearing inmind so few Silvers were handed out last time around. (four to a major unit I beleive).

This time around due to the larger numbers of blokes who will be eligble for both, i'd imagine a bar. The reference to JPA also indicated that now we have such records the issue of bars to those with medals should be easier, than under the last system with the golden jubilee trying to find all the holders of silver medals had it been neccesary.

    Oh the Curse of Arrse!

    Daddy-pig says "Snoort!"

They used to say if an infinite number of chimps typed we would get the works of Shakespeare, the internet has proved this is NOT the case...

Looks like the Canucks have just launched their Diamond Jubilee Medal. I wonder what's taking our lot so long - the actual anniversary is this time next year.

Good colours of the ribbon (inverting the red and blue stripes from the Coronation Medal).

edited to add, it is a good indicator of how disinterested/inertia-bound our own medals and honours committees are if the Canucks have got theirs approved already!
