I think you missed a chance for an easy shag there Mr Dravot!

Whinging wankers. If they want one that bad, join the cadets for a few months to qualify or wait til they come up on ebay!
The Cadet Adults still have the same qualify time as all the rest... not just a few months lol

Why? Do shiny little things above your pocket give you a hard on? Just because the Army is so shite nowadays that anyone will pick a fight with them doesn't necessarily mean they are worth that much, especially when this thread is about medals that haven't exactly been earned. Queens's Jubilee Medals given to everyone are about as ally as the UN medal dished out to people in Cyprus just for wearing a blue beret.
My "rack" is rather small compared with those serving nowadays (5 which does include a LSGC but no jubilee thingies) and they sit in a drawer somewhere upstairs gathering dust. If I take them to Starbucks and give them £3.60 they will give me a complimentary medium coffee.
I can say the name of that railway station in Wales, as well.

As it was for any of the categories eligible, in the military at least - from Regs through to RFA and on to cadets - you could aggregate between all the different types of qualifying service. Personally, I got mine counting 5 years of my Reg service despite, on 6 Feb 02, not having completed a single TA bounty qualifying year (although I was 'efficient' for 2001/02).

So, actually, yes. Cadet officers and instructors still needed 5 years. But a minimum of 5 months in the cadets.

70 (2022) The platinum jubilee. I won't be serving then but I shall be writing into the soldier mag, starting an E-petition and facebook campaign demanding I get one.

I'm not sure that should Charles take the throne if a coronation medal will be produced, but doubtless even man and his dog who once walk passed a recruiting office will want one.

TA and Cadet Instructors should only get the medal for working the same amount of time as a five year served regular soldier. Once you've done 1826 days in the TA you can have a medal.

    It's only fair...

Is that 1826 Saturdays or do Tuesday evenings count as well?

I think they get a quarter day's pay for drill night don't they? So that's 7304 drill nights for a medal
