I reported a post once. It got three extras. Sasman was not amused when he found out it couldn't speak, move or... do anything, really. I inherited six extras and wasn't Ord Cpl anymore. No sense of humour, some fuckers...

There are no honourable Sappers... Oh, sorry...

You think you'll get that speshul clearance for his upgrade? I mean, bits missing is generally a box ticked... BUT...

Can he do diverse and interesting things with a T35? Build a timber box culvert from a box of matches? Fit a horizontal anti-twister to the camp bike's fanny?

    Yes? Well, he's in then.

Extra flames available from the SQMS after NAAFI break tomorrow.

I am a tad confused. This chap says his grandfather and his father are British and he lives in Oz, yet his English is like that of Rayc and co. Could he be another sockpuppet?!?!?!

    Say its not so!

No formalised bomb disposal units before May 1940
No 'UXB' teams operating at Dunkirk (either RAOC or RE)
    No 60kg bombs:

The range of bombs which the Germans had at that time were:-

    50 kg (112 lb) S.C. or S.D.
    250 kg (550 lb) S.C. or S.D.
    500 kg (1,000 lb) S.C. or S.D.
    1,000 kg (2,400 lb) S.C. (Herman)
    1,000 kg (2,400 lb) S.D. (Esau)
    1,400 kg (3,200 lb) S.D. (Fritz)
    1,800 kg (4,000 lb) S.C. (Satan)

S.C. stood for Spreng Cylindrisch, a thin walled, general purpose bomb.

P.C. stood for Panzerdurchsclags Cylindrisch and was a heavy armour piercing bomb.

The latter used almost entirely against shipping and heavily shielded targets.

The weight ratio of the two most used types were S.C. fifty five percent explosive, whilst the S.D. had thirty five percent.

You claimed in an earlier post your grandfather was a Sapper but now that he was with '676 Ordnance Coy'? What was it? must have been a huge bloke though if he could hold a 60kg bomb!

Quite so. But I did say honorary and not honourable.

And he has been involved in grubbing around in the dirt for landmines (in the traditional sense), so is qualified by experience if not formally. He has gone over the top a bit on his upgrade, but then he is RLC for whom subtlety is a missing part of the equation.

So what say we all, is he in or is someone going to blackball him... err,...
