Not really, I get freebees to Farnborough and Wimbledon and don't often go. Should I be sanctioned for not going anfpd the tickets sold?
What happens if I decide I don't turn to till after lunch? Should the seat at Wombledon be resold that morning?
I'd be less than best pleased if I turned up with my corporate gizzet and found some prole sitting in my seat.Warning, this post contains some flash photography.

"A volunteer is worth ten pressed men."
So, a TA battalion or nine Regular Guards battalions? Not a difficult choice, then (especially as we don't have nine Regular Guards battalions).
I am a number. I am not a free man.

What, at those prices? A family of four would need a minimum of a grand for entrance fee, grub and one nights accommodation in the most expensive rip off city in the world.
On the other hand, You could comfortably buy a huge new plasma C/w the latest sat box and then gain free access to every event from the comfort of your own home, and all in stunning high definition!!
And keep the telly long after the games have finished.
If you find me intolerable at my worst, then you would not deserve me at my best.

Who cares about Wimbledon? Don't get a ticket? Come back next year. And as you say (to the best of my belief) tickets are for all day.
Without getting to steamy, this is THE British Olympics. For every empty seat today, there would have been British people hoping to snag a seat.
If the sponsors have 'bought' the seats then I hope they have paid a lot of money for the rights to the chair and the various other perks they have collected... but whether it equals the sum the British tax payer has had wrung out of them for this I don't know.
Re the Q earlier regarding houses. I've no problem with someone owning more than one house. Even businesses. That said, if the purchase of these houses is likely to have a negative impact on the area then they should be forced up for sale or limited in sale. Like the French rural areas do. Why, because I've seen the effect of a bunch of rich tw4ts moving in to a rural area and denying affordable housing to those who need them (ie farm workers).

What empty seats? St Seb of Stratford says that the venues are "stuffed to the gunnels" so they must be. Yes I know you have seen TV coverage that appears to show loads of empty seats but this is because you are obviously not entering to the spirit of the games, if you were you would see it as he does.
You've done your bit Hooky, out you go.

Coe is keeping up the line that the empty seats are those allocated to Athletes to watch. I think he is full of shit. Tanni Grey Thompaon was peddling the same tosh earlier.
He is shit scared off slagging off sponsors. I reckon its a good mix of sponsor seats, athlete seats and also seats perhaps made available abroad but not sold. There are plenty of gaps in amongst the public indicating not all public seats got sold.
He needs to get a grip and make those availableLast edited by PBUH; 29-07-2012 at 18:04.

Listening to the news on the radio earlier and it seems that sponsors were allocated blocks of seats. Some members of the public tried to purchase tickets for certain events, but were told they were fully booked. When the public had to resort to watching the events on TV, they saw loads of empty seats, which obviously did not impress them much.
The sponsors, who have the tickets will decide which events they will turn up for, in the meantime depriving anyone who genuinely wants to follow certain events.God helps those who help themselves, but God help those who are caught helping themselves
