At a mates barbecue last night we got on to talking about the old amusement arcades at the seaside and someone mentioned this old game - I used to spend about half my holiday money pretending to be a U-boat captain sending allied shipping to the sea bed. When you fired, a series of lights under the sea flashed showing the track of the torpedo. Any one else remember these?
I saw a thread somewhere about old, rusting Typhoon SSBNs that some Russians had got onto and taken lerds and lerds of pics. They had something VERY similar to this on board.
Missile Command was good, but I was rubbish at Defender. At our local the torpedo game was IN COLOUR!, by the simple expedient of three strips of coloured cellophane glued to the screen.
And you tell the kids today Tchh.
Ah. Galaxian, Defender, Pac Man (bit gay), Centipede but who remembers Gorf? The one that used to speak? It used to tell you ehat rank you achieved. Me, i never got above space cadet, which set me up for life.
