Wanted Inf, didn't particularly care which specialisation. Closest unit, and family regiment. Plus I'd been wearing the beret 6 years as a cadet already, and I thought the colour suited my eyes.

    Re: Why did you choose?

I was having a piss in a carpark, turned out to be the TA centre (gate open,no MOD signs, not my fault).Bumped into a Sarnt Major and joined. But joined a company closer to home and that knows how to close a gate.

Closest unit and old man was also a member.
Once I got there and realised Signals had more women in it than blokes at the time (1990), that was me hooked. ;o)
Then I realised what my father had beeen up to all these years!

1st unit: Closest one to me. But soon got bored and urined off with unkept promises.

    so left for....

2nd unit: Only 45 minutes away and had the promise of falling from the sky. Then they binned PPS.

    so left for

3rd unit: Definate chance of falling from the sky. Still here, still happy, still need to pass PPS. However it's a labour of love as it's a 2hr journey by train to get there.

    Re: Why did you choose?

I wanted to ride horses and serve the Queen.

Never rode a horse (in the kit anyway)
Served the Queen though (at many parties & dinners)

    Re: Why did you choose?

I had lots of choice, but it wasn't hard really as I have worn the capbadge since cadets

Welcome back youth. Hope all well.
Bravo Bravo sets himself a depressingly low standard which he consistently fails to achieve.

    Re: Why did you choose?

Joined the nearest TA unit, turned out to be the 'family regiment', but only me & my Great Grandad wore the same badges

Wanted an Infantry unit, was prepared to travel!

Infantry - When you absolutely positively have to kill every mother f*cker in the trench... Accept no substitute.
