I can see it now, in a decade ARRSE will be full of young thrusters who will be complaining about all the old farts who go on about HERRICK, lurk in the office, "enable" stuff and how it's got fuck all to do with what's going on now.

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cros...s" since the blitz in 1940

Silvermans - a '44 pattern nylon largepack - gucci as owt!
Rubber NBC repair patches.
New fangled NBC Casualty bags.
COLPRO
Cyprus with 'the obsolete weapon', LCLs that dropped you into 5' deep water so that your webbing and rations could absorb all that lovely salt water to keep you cool on your march to Paramali.
Being thrown out of the billet by the RSM during COs inspection as I was about to puke my guts all over the CO.
Warsaw pact study weekends
Cardboard in the pockets of those god-awful orange 85 pattern combats.
