Good thing the Regular Army has so many blokes twiddling their thumbs they'll have no problems manning this one, then
Bravo Bravo sets himself a depressingly low standard which he consistently fails to achieve.

You mark my words, they'll be puffing their chests up proudly and giving it the 1000 yard stare at the mere mention of you know where!

I dare say a QDJM will assist to establish one's credentials as a certified underwater knife-fighter to those who don't know any different.

Fair enough, if they ask for the people and you can do it.

Mr Snakey has a point, however.

Yes.. And a very good point at that, Although i dont see me in full Number 2's on task, think the PCS will do fine in the better English Summer.
I did notice a few well know allergic to sand types(Unless its St Andrew Beach type of course) "Enablers" on the list from my Bde. Some of the bottom feeders i saw at my medical head for The games was a tad troubling too..... Mind you pretty much most of the Snr NCO and Officers from my lot are all recently off Herrick, or have been in the last couple of years...So should be ok on that front.

Google Isobel Pooley. Saw her at the Army Footie stadium, Aldershite.

Waste of money and peoples time, The army shouldnt be used for the Olympics beyond some form of reaction force armed response LLAD. The stagging on/ushering shit jobs and searchinng handbags and doing car park shit should be paid for by the Olympic bandwagon. Bunch of cunts they are!

Have to say that I'm with Ugly on this one. Government gets its sums wrong resulting in a poorly specified contract with the providers of people to do shite jobs during the Olympics. Result: Last minute panic results in spamming the Army with the job. As for it being "what you're here for" - really ? I mean - really ? Working as car park attendants because the Govt has failed to get a contractor to recruit enough job-dodging no-hopers on the minimum wage ?

Fair play to those who are public spirited....but I don't think anyone in the TA should be feeling particularly good about this. If this is really what you lot are for (and, frankly, a lot of the time I can't see much other use for a lot of the TA) then why do we bother spending money on stuff like arms and ammunition. You can bet that before long that won't be lost on an accountant in Wilton or MB.....

I understand what you and ugly are saying and your points are valid. I would like to add a couple of my own.

    1) The TA is moving towards a more National Guard set up and this role is ideal for us.

    2) We are recruiting hard, and this sort of gig will impress the punters and place us firmly in the public eye.

    3) If the blokes want to take part in this then let them, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to do one's bit. We are, according to our skill set, a massively under utilised asset in the public arena and that is about to change.

    4) If you are a Lilly livered type whose family crest includes white feathers then good luck to you. Feel free to Walt it up and grab some much needed attention for the full 3 months.
