Well, I left in either spring or summer of 2010, so that's just under two years. Although I never went back to the TAC apart from handing my kit in after demobbing through chilwell just after christmas.

If that's true, it would be my third time doing basic.

Not sure how much more competent I can get in boiling my scoff or setting up a basha.

I was hopeing they'd either put me on a matts weekend and see how I do, or I tag along to maybe one or two recruit weekends. It's still all pretty fresh in my mind.

I could pass a WHT and an APWT tommorow, all I need to do is a months worth of phys in my own time and I'd be pretty much ready.

Being out for less than two years means that you shouldn't have to do Recruit Training again. Give them a call or drop the ROSO an email for the gospel: 7RIFLES-ROSO@mod.uk .

By the way, you may indeed be able to pass the APWT tomorrow, but it would be worthless as it has been replaced by a new range shoot called the ACMT.

Point taken, definitely in need of a refresher, but I'm really hoping I don't have to do the whole shebang.

I'm giving the PSAO a ring tommorow.

Sorry, Old Chum; you won't even get to the selection stage without 97%. At the last selection, everyone had at least 97%, with three applicants fighting for each place. On a positive note; you could ask to re-take the MLAT - If you think you would fancy languages, it could be worth a punt, although the word on the streets is that there won't be another intake due to the drawdown (it's a fifteen month course). Thinking about it; that was a negative note. Sorry.
I am biased in favour of boys learning English. I would let the clever ones learn Latin as an honour, and Greek as a treat. But the only thing I would whip them for is not knowing English. I would whip them hard for that.

Nothing to be sorry about Sixbadges, I'd rather know what I was in for before wasting my time and the Army's time.

I'm a little suprised though as the captain in the education centre said mine was one of the higher scores he'd seen, I found the test very hard and even though I went balls out trying to finish it, I think I left a fair few boxes unticked. The guys who got 97% certainly deserve it.

I was under the impression that the MLAT was a one time only deal, the point being to test your aptitude, not your ability to learn the test. I'm not sure if I would benefit from re-taking it if I got back in the TA, but I'd like to give it another go if I can.

Do you work as a linguist?
