Interestingly some things have been passing about regarding fitness levels in units, now being a Brigade concern.
I'm holding my breath as OP DEADWOOD may finally happen and the deal that people signed on the dotted line for with finally be backed up.
Pass the basic level or get no bounty, fucking enablers
Anyway I digress, we had a non male solider get RTU'd three times from a PTIs course, one excuse was the Bergen was too longGod is not on the side of the big battalions,
but on the side of those who shoot best.

I heard of one crappy med unit that ran a 'pre selection assessment' for a course selection! None of the skills assessed had anything to do with either the selection or the course. It was a uniquely wonderful example of military cuntoonery.

If they throw some money at it, that might help.
Back in the 90s we had a CO who allowed us to have an extra drill night, with pay, that was just PT. Run by our PTIs, unit fitness skyrocketed, as people not only went to the good, long workouts/runs, but continued in their own time, in order to maintain/improve for the next week's session.
I think Brigade found out, as it stopped after about 6 months, but it was good while it lasted.''I'm Brian, and so's my wife''

Ah I did not know that, however that would suggest the pre is not about ensuring the candidates can pass the basic entry tests but display the aptitude it should take to be a PTI? and not just the fittest person in their unit. Sort the wheat from the chaff sort of thing, I see no problem with that seems to be the norm for all of the services
