I believe this is exactly the same as the regular element of the corps, except they are a few years ahead.... BSS, class 3 & 2 modules will also follow this trend, unless the plan has changed

The first workbook I had eyes on, wasn't kit-specific but more geared around the process element (pre-deployment prep, maintenance, admin, depolyment, sighting etc) unlike the old 3-2 workbook with Clansman, NCRS et al).

So the March course has been completely binned? Any idea when the next one is?

What about the content? I've heard varying reports on what actually goes on ranging from sat in classrooms for a fortnight to full on deployment!

I was sat in classrooms for 2 weeks on mine, thats when we weren't in the museum cafe :P

Last time I saw a 2-1 workbook, it was the week before a Class 1 course, and the 3 attendees from my Sqn were sat down with a couple of seniors, who talked them through the book, and told them what to write in, then signed them off...

Not sure that is way it was meant to be used...

I guess having more attendees than instructors during the sign off is a positive - just that it happens in several other locations

Yeah one of our guys is about to deploy on Op Class 1 3 (3rd attempt due to cancellations!) Next one isn't until August so any Cpl's with aspirations on their 3rd this year are going to be disappointed.

Hardly suprising after recent events. I bet the TA is shut down till April went around places faster than it was open again... Courses binned then opened again is a bit difficult once the garbage collection has taken the work away

Bearing in mind the need to do SCLM as well I sympathise with the lads who's course has been binned.
