I suppose in the end, regardless of being paid or not, in uniform or not, the main thing is that you are there paying your respects to those who deserve it.
Polar, you kinda just have to pull together on this one and jobs which need doing, get done, doesn't matter if the OC is washing the pans or the pulling a stint on guard, as long it all gets done. This is one of the occasions that rank doesn't matter as long as the job gets done.
I would be very surprised if unit commanders and their soldiers are not treating Rememberance Sunday as a business as usual day regardless of pay implications.
I am sure the vast majority of TA soldiers will do the right thing and pitch up looking smart as carrots and be a credit to their units.
I am sure that those whom you are going to pay your respects to would be happy if all they had to worry about was whether or not they were getting paid for the day.
How very dare you! I most certainly am not - but I think some people exclaiming their outrage have very little to do other than ruffle their newspapers..
can we have a new option? "I'd like to parade but the TA are not allowed to parade"? As has been announced in Edinburgh? Regulars only there I'm afraid. Feel free to wear uniform to your local church though STABS.
Charming huh? An insult to the memory of all the territorials who have died alongside their regular colleagues.
