None. They aren't overspent by £100m

Correct. As posted in other threads (I really must combine some of those...) it's only the Army that has over recruited/overspent in this manner, I'm afraid. Not entirely their fault - they need Recruits now, and just haven't been given enough dosh to pay or train them.

Can you give further details here about additional info in LF document, or is it too depressing?

Cuts haven't gone deep enough then, as approx 500 recruits won't be starting training this year as a cost saving measure.

In a nutshell, unless your going on Ops in the next 18 months there are no MTDs available till APR 10.

This said recruiting and recruit trg both for sodiers and offrs is funded however you mya find the trg staff will be perm staff

All other trg will be C1 however some trg i.e. AT, the T&S will hav to be sanctioned by a 1*

If your a regional all drill nights will be C1 however some funding is being sought for this but don't hold your breath

All ADE and courses unless there on the OCDA (i.e rat catchers cse) will be cancelled and your trg year will be extended or depending on your COC you may get a tick in the box if your already booked on it.

Willing to answer questions if I can

If as the times says there are about 19k trained members of the TA who would normally get their 1k + bounty.....can you see where this is going?....that would add up to remarkably like the 20million missing from our pay budget. Wouldnt it have been much less damaging to eliminate bounties this year than stop for 5 months ?

I suppose its the old "wrong pot of money" argument.

If you refer to the Air Force reserve, firstly, they are numbered about 1800 in comparison with what, 25000 TA. They don't do driill nights, thereby saving a fair amount retrospectively. The don't do weekend exercises as they only attend one weekend in 3; again a saving. MATTS takes one weekend not the large numbers that it takes the TA to do.
Standards may well be different (not necessarily better or worse) but financial expenditure is much less.

You are right, if 19,000 TA soldiers were paid a 5 year bounty of £1500, it would cost £28,500,000..... Bingo! They want a saving of £20 million. If they turn up and continue training, with pay, but give up their bounty, they make the same savings, don't suffer skill fade and don't lose soldiers from them getting disillusioned and finding something else to do with their time between now and the 10th of April.

No doubt some will complain and give up because they lose their bounty, but not as many as if they lose their pay and bounty, as some will.

As far as RAuxAF is concerned, our MTDs have been cut to 30, however it looks like there will be further cuts to come, with what MTDs that units have left being concentrated on those individuals preparing to go on Ops(as we only send IRs as opposed to formed units)

As a newbie who has only just passed selection, can someone clarify what Phase 1 training constitutes please? I was told specifically last night that the RTC will not be running any training weekends until next financial year and that my only training until then will be in-house at the TAC covering small training topics, PT, etc. Will start my 'proper' training next spring. At least, that is how it was explained to me last night.

What about the 20 bridgadiers and 70 full colonels held over establishment (and 300 WO1s)?

Firstly, thanks for the info - more than I have had so far!

Secondly, yes, some will complain. There is an important concept here.

If I am an employer and say "Okay Mr. X. You will be paid y pounds per day and if you hit your targets, then you will get a bonus of Z if you do a set number of hours" and then purposefully put an impediment in the way of him hitting his bonus (like refusing to let him work), I have broken an agreement. That is simply unfair, however you look at it.
