    What Now?

As the world knows 33 sig reg is having cut backs or whatever it is... my unit is definitely getting closed and they have basically frozen everything which means no trade training....

So, I have done CMSR and thats it... I am new to this TA Malarky and frankly quite cheesed off that I have waited so long to get CMSR done and now its done they're closing!!

Anyways, does anyone know of any units in the north west looking for recruits fresh out of CMSR??

    All of them ;)

You need to be a bit more specific about your location.

The great thing about reservists is they're keen as you like. They have an attitude which simply can't be replicated in the regular army. Without going on about it, they're the sort of blokes who get written about in history books when world wars break out.

    Re: What Now?

I am near liverpool, manchester, chester, warrington.... anywhere near there.

I was told I could go and be a driver or Medic or Mechanic over at G Sqn which Is local enough and I fancy any 1 of them 3 trades, however I called them up and the guy I spoke to had a shi**y attitude and told me there not interested unless I am already Trade Trained.

I would like to avoid the engineers as thats my civvy job...

Cheers MSR, thats actually very helpful theres 2 trades there that look superb, what I am wondering is this... are these 2 of them jobs that look really good but its highly unlikely I can do it as its what everyone wants to do or do you think these are jobs I could genuinely do?

Seeing as I lead the team that does this: yes.

The 'special' role (TA) belongs to the HAC.

Yes open to all. We have this: Kit includes image intensifiers, thermal sights, MSTAR man portable radar and UHF/VHF/HF radios.

Honorable Artillery Company, based in London, so not in the NW :(

Yes open to all. We have this: Kit includes image intensifiers, thermal sights, MSTAR man portable radar and UHF/VHF/HF radios. Disclaimer: we don't do Fast Air, Naval Gunfire Spt or AH, but there are FTRS opportunities for those who do.

If you have a little hunt around this very forum you will find that a very nice man from 5MI is trawling for transferees. Go on, you know you want to - it's time to slime.

"The Intelligence officer - or non-commissioned officer - with his enquiring mind, his refusal to accept everything at face value, and with his interest in what has happened limited to the help it will be in in estimating what is going to happen, is "different", and therefore still, to a certain extent, suspect."

I thought 33 was being scaled down to a Sqn in Liverpool, to be a Sqn of 32 in Glasgow?

All ways look on the bright side of life!!!
The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cros...s" since the blitz in 1940
