No need to start an argument, I was only trying to suggest that the book has at least one use! There are several ways of identifying who has served and who is pretending. Some take longer, which means people might have to wait for much-needed help. A Red Book makes it quick and easy.
ahh yeah i wasnt thinking about the older generations, my bad
just because i'm paranoid doesnt mean i'm wrong!

and yes i have dyslexia and i fail a lot at using grammer, by all means feel free to point this out i wont care and it wont change anything (and if i dont respond its cos you have added nothing ot the value of hte discussion by doing so)

My Red book has been invaluable, its swotted wasps, been a good coaster, propped up a wonky speaker,is stained with a few shades of paint, and is really worth keeping,as no one will ever want to see it or has,it is not even correct in whats written in it and whilst it makes you think the Army care about you, after you leave,it actually shows their sense of humour.

In other words its crap all use for getting work.

I used my testimonial as a reference, in the absence of anything else suitable, I'm fairly sure it didn't do any harm.

Good for you, but you don't appear convinced or convincing.

    What a load of nonsense.

Isn't your "hubby" man enough to come here and ask. If his YoS told him to write his own, whats the problem? Why are you asking numpty fucking questions?

There is no question so obviously stupid that it prevents one supposedly intelligent human from asking it of another.

Likewise, there is no human problem that cannot be solved by the correct application of the appropriate quantity of high explosive, the suitable quantity being derived by the Formula P, where P = "plenty"

It's quite interesting to read the amount of comments along the lines of "it's fcuk all use, no one's ever asked for it". How many people have actually offered it up along with their CV when applying for jobs?

    Me.

But it was a very long time ago.
And it worked. ( 'though the job was dire, it was a job and it had a car included.)
