Re: 'Baron' Castleshort Part 2
Is he still a member? I presume there are annual subs & the like to keep one's membership "current"? I know of one here who let his membership lapse when he went over to the "Dark Side".

Ye gods,
I confess I have not followed this thread but I note the stats; 200 pages on the last topic and now yet more.
What is it about this man that generates so many words?
Please don't tell me to read past posts. I think I would die of boredom.

Quite but there is no mention anywhere of someone Post WW2 who is an honorary member of the SASRA.

Just been reading through the LOF site. They have as a Colonel in Chief Brigadier General Richard W. Annand.VC
In the structure page Linky
However he sadly passed away in 2004 Obituary Link. Can anyone shed light on whether he was actually involved with this shower of muppets or as normal are they using someone else for kudos? Obviously bearing in mind he has also been dead for 4 years, so why would they leave him up as a Colonel in Chief
I know its not directly involved with the Pink Baron, but he associates with, and uses these muppets for justification. Its hard to type when you have fingers like pigs tits!

Re: 'Baron' Castleshort Part 2
So the SASRA clearly thought back in Aug 81 that Jimbo could "verify service," and now he has a number to back it up.

Yet no one remembers him

Again what constitutes "service in" or being "attached to" for the nth time?
Please if he was attached, then a "full tour of duty" has got to be more than simply writing a book.

Maybe Jimbo's really a member of SASRA; its members dress up in military uniform and exhibit odd behaviour.

Fair enough, but doesn't all this attention merely massage his ego?

Re: 'Baron' Castleshort Part 2
I was REME attached 22 SAS, in the middle of a 4 year posting I was invited to join the SASRA.
The membership card Shortt has shown is similar to the one issued to me a few years later than his date but bears no relationship to the current card which he MUST have been given if he is still a member.
What is on the back of Shortt's membership card ?
edited to clarify when I was invited to join SASRA.uıɐƃɐ ʎɐqǝ ɯoɹɟ pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ƃuıʎnq ɹǝʌǝu ɯɐ ı

If he was still a member when the ID cards were changed he would have been sent the new type.

The conditions mentioned, in earlier posts, on who can become a member of SASRA were not necessarily those that were in place in 1981.uıɐƃɐ ʎɐqǝ ɯoɹɟ pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ƃuıʎnq ɹǝʌǝu ɯɐ ı

Yup, you've hit the nail on the head and kicked away the foundations from a lifetime of Walting.
