Reply:
Dear colleague,
I personally know Jim for many years. It is his style, and it is his business. In our country, he has never taken hold. We passed IBA d 1995 -2000 years, and not just something made, but paid for it and use for their own purposes. A little bit, but quite important - particularly the approach to learning.
All the rest - this is the problem of who is in his image. He is versed expert on the level of states. And about the medal and the Order - it is his own business
Many thanks for your reply.
As I said earlier, I was not questioning the IBA or it's standard of training, just the credibility of the Director General, who in my country has falsified claims of military service for profit.
Apart from this, I would normally agree with you about medals and awards - it is his business, but would add "Caveat Emptor" (Buyer beware)..

KTM
Can you go to;
http://ims0.osiemaps.ie/website/publ...&ecom=S1&user=
Select "search" and input "castle cosy". It will pull up Castle Cosy, Brewery Street. From the resultant aerial photographs can you ID the locations of the various phots? An officer:

Croydon actually might be offshoot of Ireland, considering that now I have a colleague in company from Croydon...and he is mad as a bat!

Jims abode is in the pic with the gate with the name "CASTLE COSEY" and the guard dog sign, I was directed there by locals. The pub is where BREWERY STREET ends, working back, going left about 100mtrs from the pub is Jims house, the builders vans you can see seem to be that building co. registered in CASTLE COSY. CASTLE COSEY is the name of the area, it is a small area in the village of CASTLEBELLINGHAM
The highlighted waymarker on the aerial map is castle cosy, working back to the left you come to a row of house where the brewery pub is located. The pub is last building.
Across the road is the junction where the long shot of CC gates was taken and the shot of the pub.

Although I guess the external letter-box suggests there probably are.
I wonder who he's scared of? Burglars? IRA? Russians?
And PLEASE tell me that it's a bungalow!

Did you see the main dining hall where he is reputed to entertain?

Re: 'Baron' Castleshort Part 2
@ PR .... Hate to disagree with your red outline, mate, but the gate is right by the road junction. That would make it #5, not #1 as you've shown it.
Not that the final build of access would necessarily be as shown in the plan, but you can see that anyway by the fence/hedge lines on the satellite image.
So - do I send him an ARRSE Pin or not?

Re: 'Baron' Castleshort Part 2
198 " pages'' ..
I'm all a flutter waiting for the start of Chapter/Part 3 and the filing of this installment in the ARRSEArchive..
Has Baron, Sir Jim Short[t] of Castleshort[t], AB CD EF GH,Knight Grand Cross of the Walt, had his solicitors serve papers at Chateau ARRSE yet?
His lawyers will be having to sift through a lot of 'depositions' and research if he doesn't hurry up. At the rate most charge per hour, that could cut into the profits for this fiscal year, Jim...and, I trust, you won't pass on the costs to your IBA students through an increase in fees...My Lesbian neighbours gave me a Rolex. I think they misunderstood when I said ' I wanna watch '.

Re: 'Baron' Castleshort Part 2
As I said, according to the Council's Plan it appears to be Number 5.
