of course you may spoil the ballot paper. and i do believe the writing has to be written down somewhere?

so you could write Blair is a knob across the paper and post it, then some civil servant somewhere has to record the words in a file.

You wont be surprised to hear that it's not going to make much of an impact. The only people who will see spoiled papers, and only very briefly, are the election counter, maybe a supervisor, the returning officer or deputy and finally candidates' representatives to whom they are shown in a batch. No Central Govt civil servants are involved. The whole counting process is too busy for anyone to pay any attention to the 'message', and no-one records the offending words.

The aim of excluding votes with additional markings is to preserve the secrecy of individual ballots, and make bribery/intimidation more difficult - by preventing a bribed/intimidated voter from making a prearranged mark to show that they have voted as instructed. Sorry for boring but informative answer! Better to make your vote count IMHO.

Isn't that pic of our Tone in Iraq with the lads worthy of being sent to the quite exquisite "Up the Arse Corner" section of Viz? Or should that be up the ARRSE corner???

The whole point is that the celebrity fool made the mistake of saying that no PM had ever been served by his Armed Forces, and I'm terribly sorry Tony, but my oath was to the Monarchy. Secondly, he waffled considerably about how dreadful it must be to be away from family at Christmas, if he had really meant it, he could have always stayed out for a couple of extra days.

The man has no concept of what his ideas bring about.

That geezer stood over phoney tony's left shoulder is a flippin major, very unusual of an officer to not be hanging out of his arse. maybe that look of disgust is really a look of insane jealousy.

Not only was he in Iraq on a swan causing all sorts of work for people who already have enough to do but he buggered off to Eilat at Xmas and then stayed here with chunky thighs whilst all other national leaders were doing something about the tsunami. Perhaps Ryan Air could sign him up for adverts?
