It's not their culture, it's some big bastard with the power causing a whole load of grief. "Leave it to them to sort out" is a bit nasty when 'they' - the ones on the receiving end - don't have the wherewithall to deal with it.

But, as you've all mostly said, we could get rid of him - and be welcomed as in Sierra Leone, not all Africa is what we get it in the news - but what would happen next? We've got no capability to rebuild a country (let alone do anything in the first place) and, yes, I would expect it to go rapidly anti-"colonialists".
