They've survived bombs, guns and war zones all for the UK, so why do we seem to hate them?
Say 'hello' to your local heroes and stop discriminating against soldiers.
Salford film maker Mark Ashmore wants you to ask yourself the question with his latest film 'Broken Britain'.
“We enjoy wealth and freedoms in this country because of the remarkable work and sacrifices of these guys. They go out, get shot at and blown up and when they come home can't even go for a drink.
“Our troops are people with lives and families, you don't have to support the war to respect some one who has seen and done things you can never even imagine, in your name.
“It's not about whether or not you support the war, its about being honest, looking at our lives and acknowledging the local heroes in our own communities who have made our luxuries possible.
“it is basic discrimination, being banned from a place because of the job you do, if a premises banned someone because of the religion they were, or what race they were then there would be a backlash, but its the same, its discrimination.
“you don't have to support the war to support a soldier.
Mark Ashmore, from Salford, will premier his second short film Broken Britain, at The Lowry, Salford Quays, on Thursday March 19, from 7.30pm, and has already started work on his first feature length production to follow on form this titled Big Boys Don't Send Postcards.
“Hopefully, if we can secure the funding, this will be my first feature film which would be a fantastic achievement.
“There are a lot of talented filmmakers out there at the moment so I’m very proud just to have got this far. But who knows in the future. Danny Boyle must have started somewhere, so if I can keep trying to make quality films then anything is possible.
Help for Heroes will be at the premier and members of the Royal Military Police will run a collection during the screening.
heres the press release, if anyone knows anyone in the media, could you help push the cause.
