Re: Young soldier film : real info required
Just working on a funding plan to release the dvd, Help for Heroes and Afghan Heroes will be the charitys I will be supporting, I will also be embarking on a bigger project, a feature film, for the cinemas in the UK, to not only be a lasting legacy to this period of time, and my generation that went to war, but the film will also raise money, every ticket sold, every dvd, every poster sold, will go into a fund for soliders who fought for my generation.
more to follow... keep looking...
in the meantime check out http://www.futureartists.co.uk you can watch a short clip from 'Broken Britain' and see my new doc 'trailer' about actors, to lighten the mood a little....

Quote from youtube user djguy100
'When the sign out side says 'No Soldiers' how do you get in to pay your respects to your dead mates
Well what about the million+ dead Iraq's. What about the 4 million + displaced from their homeland by these soldiers. They are butchers and have the blood of millions of people on their hands. They are not to be praised but to be vilified. They invaded a sovereign country and destroyed it for corporate greed. The great british army spreading fear and death.......business as usual ehy lads?'

Ash.
Unfortunately there will always be throbbers like that mate.
The Irony is that his freedom of speech was paid for in blood.
Was it not in the news this morning that some individuals are to be executed for confronting their piers somewhere? Iran I think.
BTW Interesting clip.

Re: Young soldier film : real info required
Ok just to let you know that 'Broken Britain' will be screened at the Salford International Film Festival in November, so any Northwest based soliders/ ex army, it would be great to see you there, times TBC
I did the dvd commentary for the film last week and also for all you tech heads, a special commentary on the sound design of the film!!!!! very geeky, but was great fun, also on the dvd will be a making of, behind the scenes stuff and also a little journey film, we took the feature film idea, 'Big Boys don't send postcards' to the Cannes film festival to raise some cash, nobody was intreasted, but we filmed it, looks like me and my producer on holiday, but we where working!!! honest
anyway the release of the dvd and the launch of the fundraising for the feature project will happen at the same time, so we can maxermise press etc, we have the backing of a great PR company who are helping us out Smith and Smith PR, and also several guys off here and facebook have been working on a treatment for the feature film, and a certain commander of the British armed forces has also been made aware of the project,
I want you guys/girls of the armed forces involved as much as possible, film-making is all about logistics, and are you meant to be good at that?
also, and I NEED YOUR REPLY on this, if i where to give the short film away for free online, would you donate money to the feature film project, via a donation button, even if you thought it was crap, but out of pitty you would say 'well at least he had a go'
Ps: i think its quite good, but i would say that ;)
anyway, let me know if you want to be involved further, donate or shout at me...
the feature film project will also help 'the british legion poppy appeal' and also 'help for heros' a percentage of any profits over the entire life time of the film will go to these causes...

Re: Young soldier film 'Broken Britain' out in Nov 2009!!!!
Just a quick one, I hav'nt been in touch a lot regarding the treatment for the film as i have been setting up all the tools required to crowd source the seed money we need to hire the Bafta writer, pay legal, and shoot a low budget promo, which we can then show to high net worth individuals/companies who share our passion and get them involved, its a slow process, but I am stering us a steady course,
if you check out http://www.indiegogo.com/BigBoysDontSendPostcards
this is the page i will be directing people to, to get them involved, for £12.50 you'll get your name on the trailer credits and also an invite to the launch, its going to be a nice launch at the Hilton Cloud bar in Manchester, sometime next year, so feel free to tell people about it, i will be sending an e-flyer out, with more details soon, need to raise £5000
The film will also be done on a Creative commons license which means that we will allow people to copy, promote, distrobute the film and the contents for free around the net, and in the real world, as long as the project supporter get a mention, and revenue generated will go to support the promotion of the film and also a percentage over the entire life of the film (100 years!!!) will go to H4H and British Legion,
this is my passion project, I am working on other projects to support my time on this, but i think the legacy it will create will benefit a lot of people, and also educate the public,
let me know your thoughts.
