Yeah, that's what he said: SOXMIS=Soviets=Ruskies. Why would Herford have wanted sightings of BRIXMIS cars reporting to them?

When you spotted them it was a number in Herford you had to call to report it. This was to try to keep a track of where they went. We all were issued these and carried in the wallet.

Yep I remember you carried your SOXMIS card and GREEN ROA card when on duty. If you sighted one in a area where they shouldnt be you had to detain them by boxing them in on autobahns etc, personally never saw one though

I suppose you've never been to Berlin then? Like a rash they were all uber the platz and were a pain in the arrse. One used to stop out side of Smuts Barracks and twice in two years phoned the guard room to tell them the Union flag was upside down.

That aside we laid a trap for one that kept going onto the Hohne range military road which they were banned from. It kept stopping and taking photos of passing traffic etc. We staged an OP watching the motorway on the days it came and then we had our Recce troop waiting round the corner which was supposed to come round and box the car in.

Weeks it went on and then one day they appeared, we sprung the Recce troop trap and the beggars reversed up the bank and got away.

All designed to embarress them but it was us with egg on our faces. Oh the excitement
