Just a reminder that many areas in Scotland are still desperate for Area Organisers and other volunteers.

Re: Lack of Poppy Sellers?
I get absolutely frozen stiff sitting at the entrance to my local supermarket surrounded by boxes of poppies - I am a couple of years off seventy - then I think of the old bugger I just relieved, a veteran of the Battle for Caen, (that makes him close to 90!!!) and the other one who relieves me, a Korean survivor of the battle of the Imjin River, and I think if they can do it so can I. I just wish more younger people (not necessarily of the Services) got involved.
There is also one RN veteran of the Russian (Murmansk) covoys. He wears the white beret and has the medal. I stood behind him in the parade last year and expected him to fall out. He didn't, I hope he is there this year.

Re: Lack of Poppy Sellers?
I would love to help sell Poppies if i still could? I live in Central London, near Camden. I am not an officer or in the forces, hopefully i will still be able to sell them though!

Re: Lack of Poppy Sellers?
Kicking round East Londonistan and have found them rare as the proverbial rocking house droppings. I did find one place (a florist run by old ladies) and nipped in to get mine. Was very pleased by the line from the old dears who said we should be wearing the more than ever this year "cos of them poor sods that didn't come home"
You can find them in the capital but you may have to hunt, in years past i have been very disappointed by the failure of the major supermarkets and other retailers.
I was also a little upset today with the Polish tarts at work and people in the street who seemed to thing it was about the BNP as a certain twat was wearing one on the telly last night.
When i explained why i was wearing one and that once upon a time they were stopped from speaking Deutsch because of why i was wearing one the situation changed somewhat.
Am getting some evil looks in the street though and don't know if it it the short hair and shiney shoes or if it's my all round fuglyness

Re: Lack of Poppy Sellers?
Email sent. Much appriciated. I didn't know if they were still selling the Poppies, or if they had even started yet. I haven't seen any on people apart from on the news reporters.
I would offer moral support, but i have questionable morals.

Well done to your daughter Kernowpuss. I trust her peers appreciate what she is doing, and respect her for it.
