Interesting word 'living' it has the same origin as the word 'life'. I'm quite sure any member of the armed forces is prepared to earn his living on the job or after the job. Risk of the job losing your 'life' to make a 'living', I don't think anyone would disagree with you, but I'm not convinced people sign up for money, plenty of better ways to make money. I just think that maybe people here think that dying as a result of what can most kindly be called a misadventure (I'll not bother mentioning dubious intelligence/lies) is not what they signed up for?

Just for a moment ,suppose if you will that no one joined up to any of the services , no one had a sense of duty to Crown and Country, no one cared about his/her/other ' s fellow countryperson. no one to be there in times of crisis .
