Re: Aldershot......ghost town
New office blocks all over the place, head offices to this & that.
TAG Aviation's principal operational base, with freight flights every 15 mins with a business only terminal as well.
Generally the whole place has come a live & had a knock on effect on house prices.
On top of that Farnborough town centre is in the process of being redeveloped, new superstore in the heart of the town, cinima & leisure complex. Bull dozers are doing there bit now should be finished in 2 yrs time ish give or take a british workman!!Vote For None Of The Above

Sorry, he's quite correct. Neither as good as the Gurkha Square in Fleet though...

Re: Aldershot......ghost town
You're both wrong, the title goes to the Gurkha Palace on Farnborough road. Quality nosebag!

Re: Aldershot......ghost town
If there are three previous opinions, how can we "both" be wrong! Especially as I am right. I am always right. Even when I am locked back in my padded cell screaming "I'm right!" I am right.

Re: Aldershot......ghost town
My bad all three of you are wrong! But if I am always right too (Except with regards to counting above the number two) surely we have a problem! Which incarnation of cuddles am I talking to? Good cuddles, bad cuddles, doesn't play well with others cuddles? I believe we should have a gurkha off. One meal in each establishment one after the other interspersed with flagons of that rather thirst quenching Gurkha beer! Obviously we'll have to spoof for the bill!

Re: Aldershot......ghost town
If Montgomery lines does go, wont that be the end of the military town pretty much??
The sign that calls Aldershot, home of the British Army, well it wont be for much longer if its all torn down and sold to developers.

Re: Aldershot......ghost town
I live in Ash Vale on the door step of Aldershot and have very happy there. There is minimal military activity (despite being to close) and you are within spitting distance of 3 train stations on different lines - only 40-45mins to Waterloo. I would recomend this area as opposed to North Camp although I know little of Farnborough (except by reputation!!!)
