If private organisations do take over these trusts I'll bet my bottom dollar the tax payer pays the debt first.

Our CCG looks just like our PCT same HQ, same directors, managers and the usual GPS who do 1 morning in surgery followed by 4 days of PCT administration. I see no change in attitude or service delivery, remember these same people have failed to make any difference for the past 10 years and are only interested in self promotion or sustainment.

Our CCG looks quite different at the top but I just can't fathom the rest. I need to have a good chat with our business manager.

Our CCG directors tried to deliver PBC for the past 5 years as a GP "led" consortium and failed.

Strangely enough at the recent Somerset wide elections for officers of the CCG not one new GP stood and not one GP could be bothered to challenge the current mafia! so for the usual suspects are lining their pockets whilst enjoying over inflated NHS senior salaries (sorry reimbursement) which they themselves set!

The Dept of Health approved accountable officers are all ex PCT directors chosen by their GP cronies. So much for getting the best men for the job. All grossly over promoted clerks.

Just such a shame we will waste a lot more money and loose a lot of talent with nothing to show for it

The last I heard ours was declining to employ PCT staff as they have such a terrible reputation and can't be trusted with public money. I can't see they'll have any option and we will have the same mind set and waste, just a little part of me thinks things will improve.

Wish I could say the same of our PCTs senior staff (grade 8 and above). Somehow above grade 4 they become more career focused and unable to make decisions again until they become a director, by which time they are political yes men and have no grasp of reality

One Trust I worked for got round this by double-hatting all Director grades as Directors in the Local Authority and vice versa. It looked to me like they were making sure that whatever happened they still had a job & if they were sacked from either they could claim compensation from the one that chopped them...

Hmm well they can join with local authorities, what joy. There will soon be so much confusion only Richard Branson will be able to help...
