BBC NEWS | UK | Magazine | When to use 'fewer' rather than 'less'?

Mind you, it was good enough for King Alfred:

Swa mid lęs worda swa mid ma, swęšer we hit yereccan mayon

Bet he didn't say that at the check-out queue in Tesco's.

It was like that when I got here.

If you can't take a joke, you shouldn't have joined.

    Two important rules:

    1. Distance between edge of trolley and edge of shelf to be greater than length of brat's arm.
    2. Either say "yes" or "no," but NEVER "No. No. No. No. Oh all right then, just this once." Otherwise thou art buggered.

Ah Michael, so good of you to join us. How are things in the Special Forces these days ?
Not keeping you too busy to help out the Coastguard are they ?

But no, the rules of grammar don't change to suit "whether you are a scientific, technical and mathematical sort of person."

Are you confusing me with someone else? I do not claim to be in SF.
