Thing is, I have had dealings with the SW Heddlu and my impression of them was excellent.

I once asked a uniform about somewhere to stay in Morriston and he phoned his girlfriend who knew somebody in the trade and got me fixed up with some terrific digs at a discount.

Didn't even glance at my tax disc and was hugely pleasant.

But it seems that the SWP CID was cut from the same cloth as the late unlamented West Midlands Serious Crime Squad.

This is one of those cases that reinforce my opposition to Capital Punishment, my heart says yes but my head says no.

No. They were tried by a criminal court and a guilty verdict requires proof beyond all reasonable doubt.

The damages were awarded in a civil court in which you have to show what probably happened to get a ruling in your favour.

    The twain quite frequently meet.

Some uncomfortable similarities in this case and the poor sod did go to the rope.

Sorry to vvaannmmaann for going OT.

[QUOTE=Biscuits_AB;4345397]Not since 2005. But don't hold your breath hoping for justice. The ACC has just stated that as far as he's concerned, Cleveland Police have decided that the payout draws a line under the matter. He's not in any position to make that call, but if you really want to see police corruption at its very best just look to South Wales Police. Those cunts could embarrass the Afghans. North Yorkshire Police aren't fucking shy in that department either.

Might as well throw Fife Police into the mix as well.

And there are still people in this country who, in the full knowledge of this, are still pro capital punishment.

He's denying it but was fully aware that 4 others were responsible? That's going to be an interesting trial, but the Jock legal system is also rife with corruption.

I don't think it does anymore actually, otherwise they wouldn't have charged those two over the Lawrence Murder.

One of them had never been charged before. Double Jeopardy has changed but I think it needs emphatic new evidence produced, you can't just rehash old evidence.

    £800,000 ? ... Well worth it.

If he plays his cards right he can happily live off the interest alone!

    That's him sorted then.
If you find me intolerable at my worst, then you would not deserve me at my best.
