Multiculturalism depends on tolerance, and understanding from all the parties concerned.

If you want to see multiculturalism working, join HM Forces,in one unit I served in 67,we had at least 2 muslims,4 jewish guys, and a sikh, along with the usual mix of 'believers, and non believers',all united in the usual common cause of wishing the RSM was somewhere else.

The Six Day War was on at the time, and both the muslims, and the jewish guys, only read the news to make sure that none of the places where their 'rellies' lived had been bombed/attacked,they just got on with the job in hand.

I wonder what would happen if we had a Sikh F1 driver?

I have never considered myself to be racist, but all this is starting to go too far, the problem is that The central goal of Islam is to establish Islamic law in every country, and this is the declared purpose of many Islamic organizations also in the USA and in Europe. And what the Quran says about non Muslims: Fight against them, kill, convert, or subdue them and (only if it is beneficial to Islam) force them to pay a tax that Muslims do not have to pay (9:29-35). If they refuse to pay, kill them. (Other option is slavery). Non-Muslims are condemned to hell/cursed/doomed/bad/evil/turned into swine or apes. How can you have multi culturalism with people who belive this, it is not really a problem in Muslim countries because you are a guest of the Mulsim state, but the people across here are determined to "make the world Islam", as is their preachings and beliefs. People need to start waking up to this before it is too late.

    From that page:
    "Anne 12 April, 2012
I find the sight of women in headscarves and veils who have to be chaperoned everywhere by men offensive. However, I would not expect them to be banned from certain parts of campus so that my strong political and moral sensibilities can be protected.

Gillies is a bigger joke every day."

Multiculturalism is a failed ideal, unsupported in Europe and USA at least. Kept alive by whingeing visitors and cultural nannies who have nothing better to do.

Multiculturalism will not work until we establish exactly whay our own culture is supposed to be.

Islam is about the establishment of Sharia law world wide and anyone who doubts this is a fool as it is oft quoted by the beardy-wierdies as justification for acts of terrorism. Islam is one of the most intolerant doctrines on the planet; talk about hoist on your own petard! Multiculturalism is something which has no translation into Arabic as it is not necessary when you are obliged to murder all dissenters.

I think you'll find that pretty much all religions include bits about converting the whole world.

So long as the adherents to the religion only try and do it through peaceful and persuasive means then they can crack on.

I do love the way how, even after the OP is comprehensively Snopesed, the ranting goes on.

    Wouldn't be ARRSE without it.

We need people who look to the stars, holding the nation and the world in their hearts but at the same time we need down-to-earth people who can do serious and trying work.

In a definite sense, a country's power and prestige isn't only a reflection of its economic power but also a reflection of its people's quality and morality. Moreover, I think the latter is actually more important in the long-term.

Nope, I'm saying that Rampant showed the original story was proven false.
