Great quote from the link posted by FF: "owing to the man's unremitting, weapons-grade vileness". Sums him up so well. Still, at least he can console himself that depite alienating everyone, he has at least ended up with a good looking chick to share his misery. How sweet.

Any idea what attracted her to the millionaire Buff Huhne?

Exactly. Particularly has she bats for the other side - I don't suppose his looks turned her. Despite that, I wonder if she will find him half as attractive without his little red briefcase and in blue overalls?

Agreed, quality blog and rapier line.

What gets me is that there are 24,966 in Hampshire that voted for him. What is the probability that there are so many really stupid people concentrated in Eastleigh, Hampshire ???? Is there a chemical plant nearby?

I thinks the same thing everytime Dennis Skinner gets his moment of glory at PMQ's. The electorate is a strange beast. I believe Eastleigh was a strong tory seat until the early nineties and was then taken over by the Lib Dems. Huhne hung onto his seat at the last GE with a significantly reduced majority against the Conservative candidate. I suspect it will return to the Tory fold when the Lib Dems are obliterated at the next GE. However, I agree with you - how could they re-elect such a tosser as Huhne? Beggars belief.

Oh! Joy! Oh! Rapture! I was WRONG!! Great!

He is being charged - not found guilty yet, but he is out of the government.

I hope he will be replaced, if he has to be replaced, by someone who has common-sense and who understands the importance of nuclear power generation. Furthermore this person fully understands the advances that have been made in the design and construction of nuclear power stations since the first ones were built.

Sadly, I think you may be disappointed. I suspect Cameron will be pressured to replace him with another Lib Dem, to retain the Coalition "balance" - I hope I am wrong. In any case, Cameron is very pro Green/Climate, so don't expect any radical changes in that area of Government policy. The majority of Westminster gets a hard on (or female equivalent) for Green Energy and it gives them another excuse for milking more tax out of us poor electorate.

Still, the 17 grand severance package should soften the blow and go towards what will certainly be little more than a slap on the wrists.

I believe he has been replaced by an equally limp-minded clone. Once everyone else has slithered up the ladder that must be jobs for all the Lib-dems by now. Make the most of it boys/girls/non-assigned - the 5 year deal will soon be up!

I seriously hope the Conservatives pull plugs on the deal before then. I have to ask, what is stopping them?
