Please tell this sad twat to re-insert head up his backside. I put money on him spending more time in lympstone than a fighting unit.
You tend not to get far in the RM these days without significant Op experience and this individual is by no means an exception...

Not crayoning at all fella, you took your 'experience' and applied it to a complete Regiment of blokes and made a fairly wide assumption that education entry standards are higher for the RM than Para Regt. I'm not saying Para Regt is full of blokes with degrees coming out of their ears...far from it. There was a review a couple of years back in Pegasus which I'll need to dig out, it mentioned the average recruit joining the Para's was above average of those taking the BARB test on entry. I'll be the first to admit I have no idea if this is the same test the Booties take but for every knuckle dragging 'meatbomb' in Para Regt theres a Bootie version kicking about.....in my opinion and experience.

Thought it was a decent docu of how the situation is on the ground now. Was a lot better than "Ross Kemp : Back to the frontline".

    I really enjoyed watching this.

A quote I remembered "every patrol is a rolling dice of death"
    - Medical passed
    - First Interview passed
    - AOSB Briefing Cat 2, 3 Months

"There is state-sponsored hacking of key UK information networks on an industrial scale and we have to transform GCHQ into a spy school for geeks who are more cunning than their Chinese counterparts."

well...Episode Two (of Five) is on TONIGHT Channel 5 21:00

Episode 2: Venus Fly Trap | Royal Marines: Mission Afghanistan | Channel 5
A massive effort by the coalition forces to return the village of Loy Manda to its former prosperity is underway. L Company patrol the area around the semi-deserted village. Their task is to act as a magnet to draw enemy aggression away from the restoration work.

The old bazaar at Loy Manda is being cleared of hundreds of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by the Royal Engineers whilst a British Female Engagement Team (FET), drawn from the British Army and the Royal Navy, are trying to persuade Afghan women to take an active part in rebuilding the community.

For this work to succeed and for the people to feel safe enough to return to their homes, the Taliban must be kept away at all costs. The marines at Toki are in constant danger from Taliban attack as well as the countless IEDs that riddle the areas they must patrol every day. The marines have already lost four men in the protection of Loy Manda but they must continue to take the fight to the enemy.

After a tense patrol lasting four hours the marines start to intercept Taliban radio traffic. From this they can tell the enemy is nearby, watching and waiting to attack. The trap is set – but will it all go according to plan?
