It's the smell of diesel that really ingrains itself. Even after they've been back a couple of days it still lingers. The wardroom back bar at Faslane smells like a truck stop - a mix of sweat, diesel and sexual frustration

I'm sure it happens, it's just not a guaranteed-to-happen, scientific fact. It's a shame, I like their musky scent.

Mate, regardless of what that says, I have seen it happen and heard wrens discuss it openly.

Perhaps the study quoted above doesn't take into account the fact that 25 girls live in a space smaller than your average bedsit and tend to muff eachother out while smashed on cider most nights.
One cannot begin to fathom the immensity of the fuck I do not give.

That's just a myth. They're not smashed on the cider

That article says it does happen, but for it to happen with perfect synchronicity over a 20 cycle time-frame (that's a year and a half, by the way) is rare, and cannot be repeated with any certainty. I think that's all the proof needed.

That would be an interesting PhD proposition: "Menstruation in women under the effects of close confines, alcohol and enforced lesbianism: a study."

Is there a hidden agenda? If we put the best young men and women on our submarines, then they can keep the human race going after a nuclear holocaust. I know it sounds ridiculous, but with so many nutters wanting to wipe us out for whatever reason, it must have crossed some planner's mind at some point.

Hotels compared with the old diesels but IMHO still a step too far. I suspect the study into this was conducted in the main [no pun intended] by non-boat people.
