It's a Gen dit about the wrens all coming on together.

For one week every month it's best to stay back aft and only venture to the front of the ship in emergencies.
One cannot begin to fathom the immensity of the fuck I do not give.

Utter tripe. Well proven fact that women living in close proximity synch their periods. Down to pheramones and is hypothesised to be of benefit on an evolutionary basis so that they'd all get pregnant together (or in small groups) so that the sprogs arrived together and their would be a ready-made creche for the tribe.

As for the injection SM mentions, mostly likely Depo-Provera which is also the injection contraceptive. Side-effects also including weight-gain and feeling like shit for ages (months).

They should give them a bonus (anagram of bosun) for not getting pregnant.
