What prevailing attitude? That commonwealth soldiers aren't entitled to help from the British Consulate and therefore should rely on their own country to bail them out when they fuck up on leave?

Certainly have, Cletus!. I watched 'Zorro'. Jock would have liked it. I'll go and see 'Midnight Express' next week, but don't tell him though as it might build his hopes up.

Australia isn't a third world state they easily have the means to support their citizens across the entire globe, so why is it the FCO's business? I might have some sympathy if he had actually completed his training and done some service for this country. But he hasn't and now he never will. He is Australia's problem and I hope the Bulgarians deport him straight back there once he's done his time.
