In my next of the woods we litterally had a guy living in a hedgeback. He even had a job and the hedge was on the grounds of the estate where he worked. His employer contacted SSAFA but it took months to persuade him he would be better living somewhere warm in winter.
I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.

@ jim24 and Forastero, purely out of interest: do your organisations try to keep track of these guys? That is, the ones that come onto the plot but then get lost to follow up? I appreciate that some elect not stay with the system (their choice, I guess) but a few years down the line, they are going to be the ones that will need active support.

Not paraphrasing your quote, just didn't want to quote the whole thing! Anyway, the one caveat I would give you is that this the News of the World and they will not chronicle every single movement of this particular chap in order to back up their story. If the story doesn't sit well with you I wager it's because of their shit reporting and attention to detail rather than the geezer spinning a dodgy dit. I wouldn't trust the NotW to get its facts right anymore than any other newspaper but bearing in mind it's after its own sensational scoop, I give this article all the attention it deserves - very little.

I gave an inteview to a cnut journo from the South Wales Echo, only as a favour to the people at the RBL,a few years ago, and the cnut wrote a complete load of bollocks, ony barely keeping to the info I gave him and making me look a right twat. I went ballistic but once it's in print your screwed but I will never trust a fecking journo again

Hi Guys, I only just joined up to let you know that this is an instance of the News of the World being conned. I know of the supposed hero and he has never been near the army or done anything remotely useful in his life. NOTW has pulled the story from their website.

And there it is, NotW scores again! Knobheads, never ever trust the media, they will always put their own spin on it and this one bit them in the arse. Good. I for one am very pleased.

I did wonder why I couldn't find it this afternoon!!
