"Old" £20 notes cease to be legal tender on 30 June

Which may prove to be a tad difficult for those who are, er, cash traders.

If it has a picture of Edward Elgar on the back, time to pass it on. (He has, of course, been replaced by a Scot.)

Under Nu Labour we don't earn enough to see a £20 note, let alone spend it

Mmmm...better warn the aged Fenian crone, mother of the lovely Fenian Bride. She has carrier bags of cash secreted about her lair and I am pretty sure that never mind £20s with Elgar, she probably has fivers with Old Nosey on them!

It would interesting to know 'how many' are still in circulation still & when the ATM's will cease despensing them

to be fair, how many of us will bother to check these notes until it's too late, ah well at least we can get them exchanged at the BoE

Most (if not all) banks will continue to accept them (but not hand them back out). Traders probably won't be that bothered as they know they take them to the bank the same as anyone else. Armed blaggers with a suitcase full of them might be a bit miffed though.
I've only ever been wrong once and thats when I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.
