Funny you should say that! I was in a irrigation ditch up to my knees in mud and shite in Helmand when my mucker offered me a fag and some of his brew. I wonder if he should consider joining the Sally Army? He's a bit of a weirdo as well!

They had a history of standing up to arseholes, but with an unfortunate tendency to come over all Gandhi and just take it.

All property is theft, according to the communists, therefore taking from rich individuals is OK?

    What a pratt!
As a card carrying, fully committed agnostic I must say there are good padres (Cpt Evans - Evans Above - was one) and there are the total wankers.
The Sally Army are the only religious body I'll give money to for much the same reason as filthyphil's uncle - swap Sarawak for New Guinea, WW2 for the communist insurgency and the story is very similar. Anyway there's a good crossword in The War Cry...

Do you think he got the idea from the ex PM's wife?

    Cos they're both holy, like.
The term bugle originates from the French word bugleret, which was derived from the Latin buculus, meaning young bull.

He was highlighting 'inequality'; he has revved (hoho!) Torygraf/DailyFail readers to full throttle and lured Mrs A of TW on camera offering mock indignation whilst exiting Waitrose with a food trolley that could feed Somalia for a week.

A of TW is wont to be like the newly blooded hunter in the the tribe who has just bagged the 300lb gorilla and returns to say no-one else can have a slice as I've slotted him, me, myself, I! So feck off! (direct quote from A Smith btw.)

Banksy 'steals' all the time and receives adulation; as it's 'art man'.
"As we moved slowly through the outskirts of the town we passed row after row of little grey slum houses running at right angles to the embankment. At the back of one of the houses a young woman was kneeling on the stones, poking a stick up the leaden waste-pipe which ran from the sink inside and which I suppose was blocked. I had time to see everything about her - her sacking apron, her clumsy clogs, her arms reddened by the cold. She looked up as the train passed, and I was almost near enough to catch her eye."

Perhaps his motivation was laudable, and there’s certainly an unacceptable level of iniquity, but it wasn’t just the papers and their readers that were unhappy with his statements.

His boss wasn’t overly chuffed either:

However the Archdeacon of York, the Venerable Richard Seed, said: "I know what Tim is doing and where he's coming from. But I really don't think that the church can in that sense condone or even support shoplifting because it will often lead somebody into deeper trouble."
Mr Seed said he had already asked Father Jones to stop making his argument but he would now need to talk to him again.
The police weren’t too happy either:
