Take a look at some cases in the U.S.A. where people have been put to death because the State in which they live can't or won't admit they may be wrong,at least in Italy and the U.K. your still alive and able to prove your innocence if things go wrong,a pardon to a dead man means he's still dead! No system is perfect, don't criticize other systems unless yours is perfect.
    Er....maninblack, you couldn't post that whole article...could you? :P
this is an interesting article that appears to show the execution of an innocent man...

That wasn't supposition on the part of the prosecutors. Tat was 'wishful' thinking, by er, everyone, until the bit where it goes wrong.

I hope she's not wheat intolerant. Just think free pizzas for the next 26 years. We could always write to her, not sure if she would reply in English or Italian though.

What a sad and touching article. :(

As for Knox, i think the evidence is suspicious but it doesn't prove without a doubt. Until it does, your conscience isn't clear if you give a guilty verdict.
I would offer moral support, but i have questionable morals.

I really dont know if she was guilty...but Id be naive to believe that she played no part in the murder at all. I was not in court to hear all the evidence, but she was convicted and found guilty by a jury and judge. End of.

If a citizen visits a foreign country, and commits a crime they are bound by their laws and should stand by for any punishments imposed. Look at the amount of Brits we have in foreign jails, and the amount of foreign criminals we have in British jails.

The USA should shut the feck up and accept that Knox was found guilty and stop with any threats-if indeed they have. I have lost alot of respect for the USA over the years. Its funny how they have been after that computer hacker for the past 8 years and whanted us to hand him over. He committed these crimes from the UK.

People naturally find it hard to accept that their loved ones are capable of committing evil acts and blindly will defend them. I have no doubt the Knox family will appeal until shes released...however long that is.

Exactly . It never fails to amaze how many people who follow a high profile case via the tv and newspaper claim to know as much - if not more - than the jury who've been sat in the courtroom day after day

I felt absolutely embarrassed during the Louise Woodward case when she was found guilty and the tabloids ran a campaign where readers said they were going to boycott America

The sad thing in all of this is that the coverage of the Knox trial the press even in the UK have showed little thought for the Merideths family or memory , fact is she's dead and someone killed her , if the Knox bitch didn't then who did ? the police as far as I'm aware are not looking for anyone else in this case.
My thoughts and sympathy this christmas are very much with the Kercher family , they are struggling to get on with life without their daughter , and all the press are interested in is Ms Knox .

What exactly went on in that house of the night that meredith was murdered is (and probably will remain) a mystery. I have no idea whether or not Knox murdered or had a part in murdering Kercher, but the fact that she lied to the police, tried to implicate someone else, and is a slag did not help her case, particularly in a fiercely catholic and traditional country like Italy. Americans are incredibly ignorant on the whole, and will no doubt portray her as a wholesome all american girl. The evidence is however, very shaky, and the italian justice system is very different from the one in our country or in the U.S.
