'Man in a coma' - 'Filth out on bail'. Just about sums up this screwed up country.

The scum are now 'getting their stories together' and the lawyers are calculating the fees that they will earn defending the scum - the 'fees' probably coming from my tax money!

'Vigilante type action' is not the answer. Let us pray the full weight of the law will fall upon the miscreant filth responsible for this attempted murder.

Oh! no! I forgot - the scum are 'victims' and the 3 Para guy is a privileged, Army elite, possibly public-school educated, gainfully employed, happily married (to a female), Tory voting 'Toff', who can read, write and do sums!

I hate what this government has done to ordinary, normal standards of decency, responsibility and behaviour.

Thanks to MM and his links to MDN, we now have a holiday for the man and his wife for when they are ready, courtessy of Hols 4Heroes. If the Traf could sort out a fundraiser for some spending money for them, that would be great.

This piece of news is dreadful of course. My condolences go to the ex-para and his family. Let's hope that justice will be served and the law will be swift, decisive and uncompromising. Unfortunately another savage attack exemplifies the disregard many of the common denominators in our 'society' have for others. The media would usually spin the story for its own end, claiming to speak for the whole nation and attempting to display "outrage" in a rather apocryphal manner. Of course they only want to sell newspapers. While the incumbent government must share a proportion of the blame for not allowing justice to be administered to these bog dwellers. One must also consider that the government is not wholly responsible for the rot in society. Many families simply do not know any thing about discipline. The authorities are either compromised because there are umpteen [sic] laws preventing them from conducting their duty correctly or are unwilling to do what is necessary. In such cases the words "national service" will be bandied around the place. I'd imagine that many here would be against this notion as they are proud of being in a volunteer service where only the most capable join. However, I can't help but feel that the UK needs its back stiffened with a sturdy rod if it is ever to cast out the demonic scourge of villainy (sounds twee I know) that plagues this isle. I can only assume that the 49-years old veteran was attacked from behind or he would have gutted all three of them.

I was posted in the Shot for 2 years (99-01). I was there when the Para's shipped out. I hope he pulls through OK?

I'm sorry to say it, but the law wont dish out the justice these scum deserve. It's up to us ex and serving soldiers to look after each other. I hope that the details get out of who did this and that something can be "arranged" to teach them the error of their ways. This is the only language they understand so lets dish out some justice.
