Re: BBC1 - Wounded, now
I am just stunned at the sheer strength of these lads,I am also so moved,I want to say proud because I am, but I don't feel I have a right to claim any ownership of them. What incredible men they are!Certainly humbling.
The social need for saving face may yet destroy the Human race.

Tom is extraordinary - nothing's going to beat him. I would worry for Andy, I think the loss of sight is probably more scary than the loss of limbs. However he seems to be coming to terms with it as things progress.

Just hope they get the support now and a long time into the future? For once UK Plc needs to ensure they do the right thing all the way down the line!

A lot of us older people complain about the yoof, lovely to see such an inspirational young man.

Re: BBC1 - Wounded, now
I have to admit i dont have dusty room moments, but i did watching this program. I was in that Intensive Care ward a couple of weeks ago visiting one of my lads who was in a IED. He was very seriously injured but is thank God well on way to recovery. In fact came into camp yesterday on cruthches but still needing a lot of recovery. I remembered when i went into the ward how humbled i was looking at him and other seriously ill lads in there. Selly Oak does wonderful things and hopefully the general public will watch this and understand more.

Re: BBC1 - Wounded, now
These lads are why we are so proud of those who volunteer to do these jobs.
Now I just have to go and find where the tooth fairy has hidden the onions that seem to be in the air.

Re: BBC1 - Wounded, now
Puts all the niff naff and insignificant trivia of normal daily life right back into perspective. I for one will be waking in the morning with a brighter outlook and counting my lucky stars that I can get out of bed without effort, walk to the bathroom and see my face in the mirror to shave. Right off to do some housework, this dust is really too much.
