    FFL French Foreign Legion

Okay maybe a little bone post but life's just gone upside down.

Not only have I lost my wife, the family home kid etc, but now my job! Nothing left to lose so should I "run" and join the FFL? Or is life brighter on the other side?

Have you tried the British Legion?
No Crap haircut and marching really slow whilst singing songs about continually getting slaughtered in third world countries
Plus you can get a pie and a pint on a dinner time

    Good luck regardless
We should remember the tremendous contribution of the Queen Mother to the war effort:
As the BBC pointed out, she 'bravely remained in London beside her husband' during the war.
This contrasts sharply with the actions of my grandfather who, on the declaration of war immediately left his wife and children and pissed off, first to France, then North Africa, Italy, France (again) and finally Germany.
The shame will always be with us.

Why are you asking us? It's your life. Why not the British Army?

On second thoughts it would be better to kill yourself.

I've only ever been wrong once and thats when I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.

A length of elastic through the sleeves of your coat and attached to them can stop you losing them.

Check down the back of the sofa; it's where everything ends up.

Why run when you can take a train or plane.

Anyway, I'm sure they'll be happy to have someone, who's as careless as yourself.

At least you'd have a job .... one with advantages and drawbacks.
    Advantages.
Metropolitan France postings mean you are always near decent women [Nice etc.,]
You could be lucky and get posted to French Polynesia.
You get wine with your dinner.
You get [if you complete your contract] a French passport.
The pay outside of France is OK.
    You learn another language.
If you get injured or wounded one of the good MILITARY hospitals will give you first class treatment in a timely fashion.

    Disadvantages......

You could be posted to Kourou followed by Chad followed by Djibouti
    Stag on!!!!!!!!!
