Aren't the Indians still playing with Indefatigable? Think I saw it when I was in Bombay a few years back.

Jagman, or anyone else for that matter, can yopu tell me why HMS Manxman is flying a Union Jack and yet is clearly underway? I thought they were only flown when parked.

From memory, was she not a Minelayer, not a "Treaty" cruiser?

I always thought the Type 21's had pleasing lines - almost large luxury cruiser yaught style with a heli deck etc. Spent some time on my Regiments sister ship HMS Arrow and I always thought the old girl was a handsome ship:

I have always loved the look of the dido's myself.

And i have always had a soft spot for the monitors like Terror after reading HMS Saracen. If Iraq was such a threat to everyones national security why did only take two f**kin weeks to take over the whole country!

1. Manxman was indeed a minelayer, not a cruiser.
2. HM Ships underway dress with masthead flags (which includes the Jack) on occasions when ships in harbour are dressed overall.Dr Johnson: 'Any man thinks less of himself for not having been a soldier, or not having been to sea.'
Thiomas Babington Macaulay, quoted by Admiral of the Fleet Lord Fisher of Kilverstone: 'Moderation in war is imbecility!'
Douglas MacArthur: 'There is no substitute for Victory!'
