Re: Shortt Thread: Fun & Frivolity Here
I did contact the Band some considerable time ago, drawing their attention to Shortt's Wiki. No reply received. Fukking rude soldiers.

He's re-instated the crown above his para wings, and appears to have put up a miniature of his Estonian thing ate the far end of his rack ... and he doesn't seem to have his usual Ball companion

Re: Shortt Thread: Fun & Frivolity Here
Looking at those Russian Summer Ball photographs, I am still struck by how odd the people look. I've rarely seen a stranger collection of misshapen, badly-dressed, social-climbing misfits - many of the attendees seem afflicted by lop-sided facial features expressing either vacant stupidity or laughable self-regard. It's akin to what I imagine a fancy dress party in a home for the mentally disturbed would look like. That said, it does seem that the 'Footballers' Wives' wannabes from previous years and the Elton John look-alikes are fewer in number, though whether this is by coincidence or design I don't know.
Shortt seems to have put himself about a good bit - perhaps knowing that his tormentors on ARRSE would be looking at the pictures? - but he still cannot help but look like a bin man. That he is still held in 'some regard' by the organisers seems clear, and this despite the repeated warnings that have stemmed from ARRSE. The bearded fellow with throat decoration seen in many of the photographs is the primary driving force behind the whole shambles, and whilst I mercifully do not know him, I know about a number of his friends, on which basis I would avoid him like the plague. I recognise a couple of faces there (associates of the aforementioned undesirables) and their presence does not surprise me. It strikes me that this year's Ball(sup) seems a somewhat smaller affair. Were there any members of ARRSE present?
Based on the gallery of nouveau-riche, New Russian, and plebeian faces on display - offset with a sprinkling of aged and broken-down Russian aristos - I think calling the Russian Summer Ball a social event or in anyway connected to 'Society' is in breach of the Trades Description Act.Any statements I make while using this website are purely of my own opinion and are not to be construed as statements of fact and are not said with any intended malice. Assuming that the display of photo's have been set up in order of time, in the early stages of the evening, I can't help feeling that Mr short looks quite uncomfortable lurking in the background on his tod, lonely even. . I wander why?

Re: Shortt Thread: Fun & Frivolity Here
He's certainly shown in more photographs than previously, which might indicate a somewhat desperate desire on his part to 'be seen' and therefore give the impression that he should be there (as opposed to heading up security). I wouldn't put any store by the photographs of him with other attendees - taste and discernment don't seem the guiding principles of the Russian Summer Ball, and many of the pictures indicate that the wine and vodka have well and truly kicked in.

Apart from the absence of his former Ball Partner, and his seeming attempt to trap the skinny blonde
