Re: ICAREC OPPORTUNITIES
Sub given your recent promotion to Senior Tractor Salesperson (ROW & Birmingham ) surely you should also include the Somerset dialect in your CV for the ICT position above ?
As Hayto used to say, when radio reception was not that good on the Big Blue and he was at the back of the caravan attempting to get further forward:
"Whirr be gwain to? Tiz getting dimpsey, zo cummin yer an wet thee's whistle. Yer, which o they jars is owern? Thicky ones yourn, inner? Dang I if there ain't a gurt big wapse innun"
"Mines a Badger inner"“’The Army people wore Intelligence Corps insignia, described to me by one of them
as a ‘pansy resting on its laurels’. Indeed, I was to find that there were quite a few of
those and very charming they were’”.

Re: ICAREC OPPORTUNITIES
Attended, for the first time in 2 years the ICAREC Clinic at the obvious last night.
Great to see that the`management` has changed to a more dynamic individual who I (and others attending) see it as a very positive move and hopefully some changes to a 15 year old system (good in its day - but showing signs of age and not addressing contemporary or future issues for the benefit of members) will take place in the coming months.
Still no online presence though

Re: ICAREC OPPORTUNITIES
I hear there is an un-endorsed on-line presence, but the site manager applies some quite rigorous entry criteria. Somehow he seems to have retained access into what used to be called, IIRC, the Army Index at M+RO York. Sanctioned, or not, this can only be a force for good IMHO.

It would be nice to see some of the offers made by members of the ICAREC Network to talk to, A3, A1, SM+D, Warrant Officer's and Director's conventions being take up for once. I know of at least three members of the Network who have consistently advised wavering JNCOs to stay IN rather than PVR.
It would also be a welcome change to see some Intelligence Corps Unit Resettlement Officers or CMROs turning up at ICAREC clinics once in a while. They are also looking to employ people, by keeping them in the Corps
Exploitation of all available sources and agencies used to be a principle we were once taught. Another interesting fact: IIRC it was E2 Sergeant Major Mick who coined the phrase " life is a research operation"*
*See also: " recruit your own side first". If not the roll-up smoking, mandolin-playing, former Ops Officer, with an OU degree in Pure Maths, will correct me.It was not the intelligence agencies who failed......
but that intelligence was made subordinate to policy
