I have an appointment Jan 5th, but I just thought I'd just ask here. Strangely, my degree is a BSc. Thanks for all help.

Does anyone know how long it would currently take to go from having nothing to do with the army to serving as an officer in the Int Corps?

If I've worked it out right it'd be 2.5 - 3 years, what with waiting for Sandhurst and corps-specific training.

    Thanks in advance.

My GCSEs all equate to A-Bs including Maths & English. I have 3A-levels in Economics, Maths & Politics, along with AS-level Philosophy. Grades are AAAc.

I did one year at university where I obtained a Certificate of Higher Education in Legal studies. Currently I am working within an investment bank.

I speak English as my main language with fluency in Gujarati and then intermediate knowledge of Hindi & Urdu, with basic French.

My interests lie within Economics, Politics & Global affairs and I enjoy watersports and badminton. Not so much football.

If someone could provide a little more information on how competitive this regiment is, if I seem like an ideal candidate? Also if they could provide what are intelligence analyst does on a daily basis and any other advice related to this division please?

My only worry is my fitness..

    Thanks
Sir - this is the Int Corps recruiting forum, not the mature dating forum, and as long as you are not 4ft 3 weighing 'about 152 pounds' you are on the way to qualifying as a possible recruit. As for the Intelligence division, I'm afraid you have the wrong army in mind - in the British Army we have an Intelligence CORPS, not a division.

No 'soliders' either, just soldiers, and officers, naturally. Are you, in fact British-born? Naturalised British, or [cough] awaiting naturalisation? If the first, with British-born parents [as in both having been born in these British Isles], then you might stand a chance. If either of the other descriptions fit you, then probably [think 99.9999%] not.

Meanwhile, the previous 70-something pages on this subject seem to have eluded your intelligent examination, so may I respectfully ask you to have a look at them, and then come back to us.

The reason for that is that background research is one of the many things that the Intelligence Corps is good at.

The Int Corps [TA] are ALWAYS on the look-out for speakers of the 'popular these days for obvious reasons' languages, but again, the nationality thing is the clincher.

    Surely that can only help?
"The Intelligence officer - or non-commissioned officer - with his enquiring mind, his refusal to accept everything at face value, and with his interest in what has happened limited to the help it will be in in estimating what is going to happen, is "different", and therefore still, to a certain extent, suspect."

    Hi All,

I am interested in becoming an intel operative, I have 6 GCSE's at C and above, I scored 67 on BARBs and level 2 on both enligh and maths tests,
I was orginally looking at joining the RAC as FR crewman, however Ive realised that I can probably do a little better and put my quals to good use.
Im wandering if you know the current watiing time between ADSC and phase 1, I have ADSC coming up soon, and presuming I passed with an A / high B,
how long can i expect to wait?

    Thanks for the help!

I'm wondering what an Intel Operative does…do they do attachments to IBM or Apple, and what do they have in common with this forum?

Some of you may exclaim that this is a bit harsh of me…but effectively this is first contact with the Corps (and remember that we can pick and choose who we want…it's a recruiters market). So, personally I'd score this as 3/10. I hope you put more effort into your actual pitch to become an Operator Military Intelligence.

To answer your original question…I have no idea. Passing ADSC is the first step. Generally Corps applicants are regularly over 70 on the BARB test (80 and above is not unheard of). Lots of applicants hold degrees and some MSc…

However, don't be put off. Passing ADSC and being recommended for the Corps only gets you a two day selection at Chicksands. If you pass, you are informed of the Ph1 course that you will be loaded into. At the moment there may be a delay as we are recruiting quite a lot and the Corps has a lot of interest.

Your AFCO may be able to speak to the recruiting WO on your behalf.
