Re: Int Corps Recruiting, Familiarisation etc...
Cpunk. It's truly great to hear that the Corps is going from strength to strength, and also good to hear that the LE mob are not getting it all there own way these days. I have to say though that one of the best things about being a young NCO in the Corps was the feeling of being a misunderstood outsider and the huge satisfaction one felt therefore in winning over Officers and ORs from other arms. If Intelligence is now "regarded as mainstream" it suggests that the people serving in it will have to become mainstream, and that just would not do. As you say yourself the work appealed to wierdos like yourself - it should remain thus! Wibble, hatstand!

Re: Int Corps Recruiting, Familiarisation etc...
is the proportion of DE to LE officers the same as it was at the end of the Cold War? or has it tipped in favour of the DE?

Thanks BA for your comments - fancy a glass of milk? Hope you got that rather weak A-Team reference. Just returned from a night on the lash. Rather p**ssed so won't make any comments that may come back to haunt me tomorrow.

Although someone i know had all the right experience / qualifications they wouldnt let him transfer from R Irish (HS)...why would that be?
You cam PM the answer but i think i know it....Having met Tropper66 I can say that he's actually a nice bloke for an old man that smells of wee and has more stories than a childrens library.

Re: Int Corps Recruiting, Familiarisation etc...
Hello there.
I will be attending the Int Corps Selection later this month and I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice about what to expect. My recruitment sergeant was a bit vague on what goes on during the two day assessment but understood it to be a mixture of apptitude, presentation and teamwork tests. Anyone know if this is correct? Should I start practicing my reasoning and maths skills?
Thanks in advance for any help.My girlfiend said to me in bed last night' 'you're a pervert' I said, 'that's a big word for a girl of nine'

Judging by your sign-off you appear to have most of the skills needed. It's a long time since I did my visit but I would suggest going with an open mind and getting into the NAAFI of a night and speaking to the guys in phase 2/3 training. The guy I latched onto on my visit is now an RSM in Germany - how about that for character judgement. Enjoy!

Re: Int Corps Recruiting, Familiarisation etc...
Hi all,
Posted on another thread asking what to do and where to go(down the pub and get the beers in I hear u all shout.....). On a more serious note,I recently passed an MLAT with a score of 123. I had never really thought about going into the Int Corps before because I didnt do very well in school. I was too immature. Now that I've taken this test I am seriously interested in going in to your Corps as a linguist. Now what concerns me is,Im already in the army(as u probably guessed) and I know how hard it is to transfer. I would really like to know a little bit about the training, postings tours etc before I put in my letter to the boss for a transfer so that I have a heads up on life in the Int corps. I would like to go on to be an interpretor, which I know is going to be very hard work but I am prepared to put the work in if the benefits are there.
Any info would be ace.
Thanks for reading.
