    Even parts of Lincolnshire, Derbys and Notts will think the Yorks are their local regiment (and not the Anglians/Mericians)

    Not so...with a five battalion regiment running around, the Rifles will have battalions in every warzone, and fingers in every pie.
    As a result the Sun will keep writing articles on that 'elite regiment, the Rifles' and people will come to know it as a household name.
    To add to this, the old LI battalions that were recruiting out of Yorkshire couldn't use the 'yeah we're like Sharpe's rifles' line. But now they can!

    Matter of time before they start amalgamating the rest of the country...
