Lancashire Fusiliers would be far better, great badge as well, proudly worn by my Grandfather (WO2 CSM) with the Chindits:
Dry books of tactics are beneath the notice of a man of genius, and it is a known fact that every British officer is inspired with a perfect knowledge of his duty, the moment he gets his commission; and if it were not, it would be sufficiently acquired in conversaziones at the main-guard or the grand sutler's.

I think the writing is on the wall and the Queen's Div. should, along with the others, go big. Besides "The Queen's Royal Fusiliers", how about "The King's Own Regiment (Lancashire, Yorkshire, & Border) and "The Prince of Wales's Regiment (Royal Welch & Mercian)".
It's a shame though how the RRF are being treated since they went big in 1968 (what ECAB desired at the time) to prevent what is exactly happening now !!!

BTW,
Queensman I have a copy of LTC JP Riley's "Soldiers of the Queen". It seems to me that due to the background of those on ECAB at the time (IIRC the Black Mafia and several one Bn. Regts) the large Regts were shafted. From what I read the Queen's could of went to two Bns and been fully manned with very slight redundancies. The R. Hants were due, in 1970, to amalgamate with the Glosters. I wonder why this wasn't revisited ? As for the letter Reynolds received from ECAB, the last paragraph is enough to make ones blood boil !!!
